I was more into the angrier (for lack of a better word) side of rock when this song appeared to me in Brazil. Britpop in general felt to artsy and “soft”. Even the supposed bad guys Gallaguers felt too poser to me. By being a Beatles fanatic I just thought they were all a bad impression of what happened in the 60s.

But I did like this song and bought the album. Which is a good album, but doesn’t compare to the song. Maybe the video helped.

Hi. That would be really cool. Thanks for the interest. The 90s were also really interesting in Brazil musically.

I’m no writer though. Just a musician struggling more than necessary to write my very first couple of posts here. :)

Nicely said! Agree 100%, esp about Oasis at that time. Interesting to hear how you experienced this in Brazil. Would love for you to write a short post for this series about your 90s musical experience in Brazil, if you're interested. We could run a bilingual version. LMK

"A good song is a good song"

It really is just that simple, no matter how much we can try and complicate it.

Amen! Glad that resonated with you.

I didn’t catch it in the 90s. But thanks to you, I will. There’s great music everywhere, from now to decades gone by. My absolute big joy is discovering music from the past that kicks ass, that somehow I missed the first time around. Thanks, Aaron!
